LIGHTING UPGRADE AT NATURIPE PROPERTY REDUCES LIGHTING SYSTEM ENERGY CONSUMPTION BY MORE THAN 50%
FOOD PRODUCTION, COMMERCIAL OFFICE
The Naturipe Berry Growers’ facility houses Naturipe’s Watsonville operations, as well as sublet space for Blue Ribbon Frozen Foods, Dobler & Sons, and West Lake Produce. The entire facility needed LED luminary upgrades, but each space had unique lighting needs. IoEnergy provided customized retrofit solutions for Natureripe and its tenants to improve efficiency and safety at each location. The result was $37,894 in annual cost savings, which allowed Naturipe to negotiate more favorable lease renewals with its tenants.
The Blue Ribbon space had the most significant updates including a redesigned lighting layout for their warehouse and new FSC fixtures with motion controls throughout the warehouse and spinach processing plant. Naturipe’s upgrades included retrofitting their existing fixture chassis with brighter, more efficient vapor tight high-bay LED fixtures. In total, 288 LED fixtures were installed, bringing the whole lighting system energy consumption down to 17.854 kW from 37.382 kW.
